I recently stayed a week at Pelican Reef Villas and had an amazing vacation. The location is unbeatable - the perfect distance from town and right on the beach. Our condo was very nice, clean and comfortable - and the perfect size for us. The staff was incredible - educating us about the island, setting up our fun day trips and giving up tips on great restaurants (loved Wild Mango's!). They took care of us from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The pool and pool bar were gorgeous and we enjoyed many afternoons there sipping frozen drinks made by Eliazar. We also had fun taking the kayaks out to the reef and snorkeling from the end of the pier. The owners and managers live on-site so they are there to make sure you are happy and are a lot of fun to chat with. I highly recommend Pelican Reef and can't wait to stay there again!

We just returned from a wonderful week's stay at Pelican Reef Villas in San Pedro, Belize, and cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was. The owners and staff were so friendly and helpful....it seemed they thought of your needs before you even thought of them. The rooms were large and comfortable and the entire condo unit was more than adequately furnished--the kitchens had everything you needed. The infinity pool was fabulous, the lounge chairs on the beach were clean and comfortable...and lying in the hammocks with the sea breeze was like heaven.

The property is very well kept and the grounds are impecable. The staff, Eliazar and Ceasar, were so friendly and helpful. They booked all our excursions and called restaurants for us....they did it all and with a smile. It was also comforting knowing that the security was always waiting for you at night to make sure you got back safely. Every aspect of your stay is thought of...Lori and Greg were always eager to help out and make sure all your needs are met. They arrange the taxis to pick you up at the airport and then take you back.

They also have a bar menu for snacks around the pool...burgers, nachos, hot dogs, shrimp baskets, etc. We ate the burgers several times and they were delicious!

The swim up bar was a highlight for our kids--they loved it! Our son loved the lighted pier. Every night he went out to try and catch the tarpon....although he never landed one, he did hook a few. He also caught a lot of snappers off the pier. The owners have also built an artificial reef under the pier so you can snorkle off the pier and see lots of fish right there.

They also have kayaks that you can use and kayak to the barrier reef and snorkle. Everything about Pelican Reef was exceptional....the owners, Joe and Rhonda, put a lot of thought and effort into making it one of the best on Ambergris Caye.

You can bet we will go back and Pelican Reef is where we'll stay!

We live in Houston, Texas so it was a two hour flight to Belize City. We had a half hour layover for the jumper-flight out to Ambergris Caye; just enough time for a cold beer.
The short flight to the Caye was outstanding. What a view of the reef and the smaller Cayes along the way. When we landed there was a car to take us to The Pelican Reef Villas. This place is picture perfect, only topped by your host: Joe, Rhonda and Lori.
They took care of everything: you need a golf cart to get around the island, it's there. Your ready for dinner, they ask what your in the mood for and tell you the best place to eat. What ever you need, they take care of it. We had a two bedroom two bath condo on the second floor. Just great, everthing you need is there. Did I tell you about the swim-up bar with Eliazar the bar tender, he was great. You can have your morning coffee in your condo or set around the pool with Joe, and the other guest and have your coffee.
Now, a little bit about the island. As I said before you run around the island in a golf cart on sand roads. The only thing branded on the island is "Coke" everything is local, even the beer. We were there for six days and that was not near enought time to see and do all that the place has to offer. Connie and Ken

Our family of traveled to San Pedro in the month of August for relaxation, fun in the sun, and just plain ole rest and relaxation. Which is exactly what we got at the Pelican Reef. The management staff at Pelican Reef is a Mom and Pop operation and totally wonderful. We were able to sit around in the evening with the management team and learn so much about living the dream in Belize on a tiny island in the Caribbean. Quite colorful folks. We did some snorkeling and sight seeing while there and totally enjoyed the layed back atmosphere. They do have a Bar snack menu, which in a pinch is very very good. Burgers, Baskets and the such. After a long day in the Sun, it hit the spot without having to go into town. Although, we did rent a golf cart and enjoyed the "town experience" via golf cart. The children really enjoyed this mode of transportation. Keep in mind, that these are condos, just like renting a house for the week, and things such as shampoo, conditioner, laundry soap is not included, but there is a grocery shop just down the street (within walking distance) that has all the necessary items. All in all, we had a wonderful time and the people running the resort were friendly, courteous and really just awesome people. We will return to Belize, and we will be staying with our new friends at Pelican Reef.
