“Pretty Nice”

Ok... Let me start off by saying I love this site and appreciate the feedback people leave... however, I am not sure of some of the complaints regarding this hotel...

I just stayed two nights at this hotel and had no problems what-so-ever. The complaints I saw cheifly were: bad FREE breakfast, atrium noise, poor room quality. I will address these from my perspective... #1 Poor FREE breakfast... Ok I am not sure what people expect from a FREE full breakfast, but this on was ok. Sure its not a 5 star restaurant but I certainly didnt expect it to be. I would rate this area as "satisfactory". #2 Atrium Noise... ok I will admit I was very concerned about this one. When I checked in I told my room was in the atrium (what I wasnt told prior to going up was it was also DIRECTLY outside the elevator). Now normally I would say this was the kiss of death combining both. Well... I was wrong... I found the noise level acceptable (the noise rises from the atrium up trough the hotel). I also rate this area as "satisfactory". #3 poor room quality... well here is where I could see MAYBE some griping. This is certainly an older hotel, but in my opinion adequately maintained. The atrium rooms have been recently renovated so the all have new flat screen TV's. carpet, and SOME fixtures. There is obvious wear on some of the other parts such as the pull out sleep sofa, wet bar and accessories, and tables. But nothing I would consider abnormal for any hotel. So I also rate this area as "satisfactory"

Allright... so here is the deal... I booked a king suite for two nights via hotels website using the AAA rate. I had 2 adults, 2 kids. My price was $92 per night. The area surrounding the hotel is an open air mall with access to a lake front walk area. The pool and spa are were "standard quality" with renovations being done to the steam, sauna/shower areas. Within 3 miles of this hotel you have it all with great access to I-4. Its certainly not the NICEST hotel I have ever been in but WELL worth the $92 fee. I would have been happy to pay the $120 fee without AAA.

All in all this is a very nice hotel with access to all a traveller needs, courteous staff, and to boot a very reasonable rate for the Orlando area. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I travel for my job and have stayed at Embassy Suites several times before. This one is located in a beautiful section of Altamonts Springs, Fl. The outside of the hotel and the lobby are very nice. The room however, was terrible. The first night I was there the main light in the living room didn't work, the shower curtain was gross, the curtain to the window facing the hallway didnt close all the way, so people walking by could see right into the room and neither remote control worked for the televisions sets. To top that off the air was also not working very well. The room was outdated and old looking. The next day the hotel had repairmen on a roof outside my window banging the metal portion of the roof with a hammer at 6am, this went on till I left for work at 7:30am.

I complained the next morning and the cleaning crew did change out the shower curtain and the air was fixed, but the other items were never taken care of. At checkout I discovered I had been charged to use the internet, which is normally included in my corporate rate with Embassy Suites. The hotel refused to take the charge off my bill. Thanks to thier lack of concern for their customer service I will not be staying at the hotel for the rest of my stay, which is 8 more days. The hotel lost a $1200 sale over a $10 charge.

The hotel also offered a "free" breakfast each morning, but the food was stale and overcooked, so I got what I paid for.

“Older Room Smell”

Embassy Suites Hotel Orlando-North

Jun 29, 2008

This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. I changed rooms three times and finally ended up in a newer room. The rooms in the main hotel smell musty and I could barely stand to be in the room. The newer portion of the hotel is very nice.

If you have allergies request to stay in one of the newer rooms. The main part of the hotel was horrible.

Nice Staff. Went beyond call of duty to help me. Stayed in the room for 3 nights. Only complain is that rooms could block out more sounds.

Just like any other Embassy Suites. A little far to be stay if your going to Disney but, might be worth the drive for the savings. It does need to be updated inside.
