I travel for my job and have stayed at Embassy Suites several times before. This one is located in a beautiful section of Altamonts Springs, Fl. The outside of the hotel and the lobby are very nice. The room however, was terrible. The first night I was there the main light in the living room didn't work, the shower curtain was gross, the curtain to the window facing the hallway didnt close all the way, so people walking by could see right into the room and neither remote control worked for the televisions sets. To top that off the air was also not working very well. The room was outdated and old looking. The next day the hotel had repairmen on a roof outside my window banging the metal portion of the roof with a hammer at 6am, this went on till I left for work at 7:30am.
I complained the next morning and the cleaning crew did change out the shower curtain and the air was fixed, but the other items were never taken care of. At checkout I discovered I had been charged to use the internet, which is normally included in my corporate rate with Embassy Suites. The hotel refused to take the charge off my bill. Thanks to thier lack of concern for their customer service I will not be staying at the hotel for the rest of my stay, which is 8 more days. The hotel lost a $1200 sale over a $10 charge.
The hotel also offered a "free" breakfast each morning, but the food was stale and overcooked, so I got what I paid for.
