The hotel was in good location to disneyland, however that was about it.
This hotel gave me bedbugs, there also was a lot of noise especially in the mornings with families with young children banging on doors and running a muck.
The worst part of this hotel was the girl at reception, she was practically useless. She charged us for things that we had no idea about, then she gave us directions to somewhere "3 blocks up the road" which turned out to be 27 blocks up the road....

“Hated every singal second”

Econo Lodge Maingate

Feb 22, 2008

First off, we were a little skeptical when we arrived. The neighborhood was quite frightening and the hotel looks nothing like the picture the advertise with. When I walked in to the lobby it smelled of smoke, and the carpet in there was nasty. The night desk clerk was a friendly lady. That was the only plus of this hotel (if you can even call it that.) When we walked into our room it smelled of smoke and air freshener. We asked for a non-smoking room since my husband is allergic. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. Even my children complained. The outlets were pulled out from the wall and that, to me, is very unsafe and a possible fire hazard. The pool looked disgusting as if it hadn't been cleaned. When you closed your door, you could still see outside because of the cracks around the door. Our main complaint is when we came back after a long day at Disneyland to find some elses boxes stacked in our room. I went to the front desk to have them removed. The desk clerk came to our room to remove them, but in the process knocked over one of the stacks and almost hit our child who was sitting on the bed. Unless you're looking for an hourly rate motel (which wouldn't surprise me with this place), I would recommend the you never stay here. They told us compensation would be received for the inconvience of the boxes, but when we checked out we were informed it was " an accidental mistake" and nothing would be done since we'd already received a discounted rate online. Never Stay Here!!!

“Well, it was acceptable??”

It was ok. The price was decent, we got it for 39.00 per night. About what its worth. The hot tub is nice, but the pool is COLD! Not heated. They charge 5.00 for 15 min of internet in the lobby on their computer. Or if you have your own lap top thats the only place you can do anything online is in the lobby. Trust me I tried to do it just outside the lobby and no go. Very aggravating. The front desk clerk wasn't very accommodating. Didn't understand or speak English well at all. The "continental breakfast" is VERY disappointing. No juice, No milk, there is however, toast and danishes. Oh, and coffee. Thats it, Its pretty lame for a C, breakfast. Room was clean and comfortable I spose. The beds are hard, if you like hard beds, your headed the right way. BE WARNED, THEY WILL CHARGE YOU $4.60 FOR RESORT FEE. Not much I know, but a "resort fee?" Huh?? that makes no since to me. Great view of the fireworks from Disneyland. Keep in mind, they're not "horrible" but it definitely doesn't stand out from the crowd. Two stars? Sure, I'd give them that. Good neighborhood, in room safe was nice, water pressure in the shower was nice, Easy to find, nice location. If you can get a good deal like we did on this motel, go for it. If you can't get a good deal on it, don't bother.. its not worth more than 45 a night

“Beware!!!! No Parking Here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

I am writing this review because I want to spare even one person from going through all the trouble I had with this Econo Lodge near Disneyland Resort. I booked a single night at this motel because I had a ton of points from my "Choice Privileges Rewards Program" from staying at several Choice properties in 2007. We had gone up to LA, approx. 100 miles from my home, to see a few museums and treat the kids to a night in Disney. I had checked into this motel at around 5pm on Sat, Jan. 12 and had no problem parking to check in or when I moved my car down to a parking spot near my room #. After 2 hours or so, we decided to go over to Downtown Disney to catch a movie and some dinner. We came back to our motel at around 11pm and could not find ONE place to park my minivan. There were 3 cars that were double-parked (literally parked right over the center of the white line that divides two parking spots). I left my car in the middle of the lot and went inside the office to ask David, the desk person, where he suggested I park my car. He told me, "to try and fit in between two cars" and he went outside with me and briskly walked up and down the lot looking for a spot for me. Of course, none of them were large enough because they were 1/2 way taken up by other cars. I asked him if he can contact one of the RUDE guests who had double-parked to move so I can fit in there. He went back to the office and tried looking up the license plate numbers so he could call the owners. He then told me he was very sorry but none of the cars that were double-parked were registered with the motel. I told him they should then be towed!!! He replied that he thinks his staff who was there in the earlier afternoon failed to obtain license plate info on some guests and that is probably why he couldnt find the owners. He then told me to "Double-Park" behind some of the already parked cars or park my van in the driveway of the motel. Not only is this illegal, it's against fire code and dangerous and totally inconvenient. Please be careful if you chose this motel!! I had 5 kids in my car ranging from age 16 down to 1 year old and they had to sit in there for well over an hour and 1/2 while I fough with DAVID to get my Choice Privileges points back because I had to "check out" of that place and go find a new hotel at 1am. He was not very helpful, empathetic or even friendly about it. He treated the situation as if he did the best he could and he was offering me parking (even tho illegal) and there was nothing more he could do for me and that I should go find a new place to stay. He advised that since I had already checked into the motel using my 6000 points, I would lose them if I left and I had to call choice rewards myself and have them call him and straighten the points thing out. This was a totally inconvenient thing to happen and I hope you guys will read this and head my warning! Please do not trust this property if you arrive after around 7 or 8pm at night. Please contact me with any ?s or comments. Thank you.

“Stay away got scabies”

We stayed at this motel, room 210, and we killed a bug in the bed. I think it was a bedbug but I'm not sure.
2 weeks later we all had to be treated for scabies. this was very expensive and I asked that they pay half of medicine and half of MD visits. Dorina, Manager, can't authorize that she has to talk to owner. 2 1/2 weeks later I call her, because she is ignoring my e-mail. and she offers me 1/2 of what we paid for our room. Because "this is a condition you get from people to people contact" However, it gets in the mattresses and bedding and pillows etc. She (Dorina) assured me she had no other complaints and they vacuum the rooms and wash the bedding between each customer in hot water. The cleaning lady was next door when we arrived and I only saw sheets and towels in her cart. NO blankets or bedspreads or pillows.
I called the 800 # to get their phone # so I could call and Michelle that I talked to there was very rude and assured me that she couldn't help me with the reimbursement. And all I asked her for was their phone #.
The pool and the hot tub had enough sand and leaves in the bottom you might as well have went to the beach.
The carpet and mattress was stained. Tub had a black ring in it. I have seen cleaner rest areas along the freeway.
By the way if you stay here don't expect any help from the corporate office, they just tell you that it is independantly owned and opperated and they will forward you to the Manager. Who won't help you.
