When I arrived for check-in was told they had overbooked and they were sending me to another "comparable" hotel. They offered very little sympathy or excuse. I was in town for a convention and the Comfort Inn was walking distance. The "comparable" hotel was a run-down Howard Johnson 2 miles away in a very seedy part of town (read reviews of Ho_JO Union Station to get a sense). When the cab pulled into the parking lot there was a fight going on between young thugs and soon police were everywhere. The "staff" consisted of 1 young person in a small office behind 2 inches of bullet-proof glass. He was not very helpful except to advise me not to walk around in the area. The room was filthy and smelled of urine, and I was stuck there for the evening/night with nothing available to eat or drink. When I called the Comfort to express my shock at where they had sent me they once again were dismissive and said there was nothing they could do.
I do not know what it is like to stay at the Comfort Inn, I wish I did. What I can say is that I cannot believe they would ever treat any customer like this. All I can do is try and spread the word in hopes that future potential customers will choose to stay elsewhere.
