“Great deal if you don't mind the 8 minute Metro ride”

Courtyard by Marriott Prague Flora

Stayed here for 4 nights in July 2008. It is a new hotel (probably about 2 years old) and located a minute walking distance from the Flora metro station on the A line (Green line). Flora is 3 stops (10 minutes) from the Prague city center and about 7-8 stops on the same line from Dejvicka stop which is connected to the airport by bus 119. Give yourself an hour to get from the airport to the hotel by bus 119 and then metro from Dejvicka to Flora. (Remember- after you exit Flora metro, turn right into the mall. Go all the way down and exit in front of Albert - the hotel is right in front).

So if you dont mind the location, it is an excellent choice. The benefit is that it is right across from the Flora Mall (which you can walk through to access the metro station). Flora Mall has a very good food court on Level 4 and an Albert grocery store right across from the hotel. The rooms had a fridge so you can store some basic food items.

Rooms are modern and big by European standards. Very clean cosy and comfortable. The beds are horrible- hard and have some sort of an annoying plastic lining below the sheet! The staff is OK. The breakfast was above average. Internet is way to expensive ($ 30 a day !!) so I never bothered using it.

Highly recommend getting tourist passes at the airport for the trains/trams. It is CZK 100 (1 day), CZK 330 (2 days - wierd!) & CZK 500 (5 days). You dont have to worry about buying the extra luggage ticket while going to/coming from the airport. The metro stops at midnight but you can take Night Tram 58 from city center and it drops you right outside Flora mall.

“Excellent choice”

Stayed in this hotel for 3 nights in November. Hotel is located in residential area which was great for good night sleep, since in the evening street is quiet and empty.
Entrance, lobby and reception area is excellent, brand new, stylish (small glass pieces on tables and nice vase with flowers) super clean. Staff at reception desk is formal and just enough polite as they are told to be.
Room we got was fairly spacious, bright and above all very clean. They have maintaining cleanliness during our whole stay. Overall furniture, carpets, decorations and fittings are brand new, and in great state - very well maintained.
Tube station is just across the street and it takes you few stations to the city center in old historical part, which was very convenient to use.
Breakfast was great, staff very helpfull and polite. Food is above average Marriott. Chocolate mousse is must, one of the best I have ever tried.

Although this hotel is under standardise hotel chain I find it exceptional. It's very well located specially if you are on business trip (good night sleep, nice meeting areas, easy parking, city center easy reachable) rooms are spacious, overall superb cleanliness, great food. If you are expecting nice tourist walking area around hotel this is definatelly not the best choice.
My choice while on business trip in Prague!

“Loved the Customer Service”

Courtyard by Marriott Prague Flora

5 of 5 stars
minneapolis
Jul 4, 2008

Our family checked in at this hotel on June 30, 2008 for 3 nights. They had a special extra bed already in the room for my 25 year old son. In addition, there were two double beds. This left very little room to walk around in the standard room. My wife called the reception. They were very courteous. A very professional customer service manger attended to us. Her name was Radka. She understood our concerns and took personal interest in seeing to it that we were satisfied. She showed us two other available rooms which were considerably larger than our room. She insisted that we take the larger one which had a separate area for my son. It was almost like a suite. We were not charged any thing extra and she even called us the next day to make sure that we were happy with the arrangements.
On a separate note, This hotel is very convenient to the Flora metro stop which is 2 minutes walk away . There is a very large and modern shopping mall right across the street with KFC, Sbarros, McDonald and a super market.
When in Prague again, I will definitely stay at this hotel.

“Excellent value”

Because I had a discounted rate through a family member who works for Marriott, this turned out to be a real bargain for me in a city where lodging can be pricey. That being said, however, this was an excellent 5-night stay in all respects.

The hotel still looks brand new. My room seemed unused - bedspreads and carpet showed no wear whatsoever, and the room and bathroom were both large, bright and very clean. Very comfortable king-size bed. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There were also an in-room refrigerator and in-room safe.

The refrigerator was extremely convenient, because on the ground level of the Flora shopping mall across the street from the hotel is a good supermarket. That came in very handy, and it can be a real cost-saver, because the breakfast at the Courtyard, while providing a very broad array of food, is highly overpriced.

If you're looking for Old World charm, this is not the hotel for you. This very modern hotel could be have been built a few months ago in Des Moines and one wouldn't know the difference. It's a Courtyard, after all. But for modern convenience and comfort, and an excellent value while exploring the real Old World charm of the actual city that you've come to explore, it would be hard to beat this hotel.

One final note: DO NOT be put off by its location 2 km from the Old Town Square. Actually, location is one of the assets of this hotel. Here's why:

1. Its prices are lower as a result of its not being located right in the historic center.

2. The Flora metro stop is right across the street under the Flora shopping mall, and it is on the A (Green) metro line that takes you directly, without transfer, to the historic center of town in 8-10 minutes.

3. You can travel to and from the airport directly to the hotel for about $1.60 each way. The 119 bus from the airport terminal takes you directly to the end of the A (Green) metro line, and that in turn takes you directly, without transfer, to the Flora metro stop 8 stops away. The Flora metro stop is directly across the street from the hotel. (Simply come up from the metro, walk into and half-way through the shopping mall, and cross the street to the hotel.) Total time: about 45 minutes. Total cost: $1.60. A taxi into town from the airport to another hotel will likely take you more than 30 minutes and cost you around $40.

4. You'll find that the 4-level Flora shopping mall will offer you some quick conveniences. In addition to the supermarket, there is also a good drugstore, and there are several different ATM machines in the mall. Not to mention dry cleaners/laundry, internet cafes, etc. Very modern, very convenient.

This hotel was an excellent place to spend the night so that I could explore with gusto the beautiful city of Prague. Highly recommended.

“Happy with my accomodations”

Courtyard by Marriott Prague Flora

Jun 12, 2008

My wife and I enjoyed our 17 day stay at this hotel. It was nice to have a large hotel room, with fridge and large bathroom (America style). Hotel staff are helpful, especially Jan. He was a big help on how to get to places and other information. The hotel is very clean.

The hotel is a little on the outside of the city center, which we liked. It is across the street from a mall, grocery store, and the metro. So it is so easy to get into the city center, about 10-15 minutes.

The only negative was that the hotel charges for the WiFI access. Actually, that got me a little angry, but the top floor of the mall (the restaurant floor) has free access, so do many other pubs, KFC's, and restaurants.

We do recommend this hotel, as it is clean, large, and close to all. I would also recommend, if you are a fan of cemeteries, across and down the street is a very old cemetery in which they buried the plague victims. Very cool......
