We stayed in The Hotel Yasmin for 3 nights in May and would highly recommend it. BEWARE do not confuse it with Hotel Jasmine which, the taxi driver told us, is a converted working mens hostel on the outskirts of town!
The staff at the Yasmin spoke perfect English and were very pleasant and helpful. The rooms were modern, clean and fresh. The hotel is situated close to Wenceslas Square (which isn't a square at all, but a long avenue with shops and hotels on either side). Best exit the hotel through the restaurant and the small shopping centre, which takes you directly onto the square. Visit Prague Castle on the hill by means of the tram outrside the Opera House. You buy your ticket from small newspaper kiosks - very cheap, and walk back down into the city. Lovely bar/restaurant on the way down the hill called Zlata Buezda. Great Czech food and cold beer! Also worth a visit is the St Norbert Brewery at the Monastery, where you can have a fabulous local meal with locally brewed wheat beer. Final, and best recommendation - take a classic car tour from the Old Town Square. Approx £40 for about an hour, but well worth it. Local drivers with really interesting stories - definately not a rip-off! Overall, fantastic trip, great city, friendly people and fabulous weather!
