Decided to book this hotel despite advices not to stay near the train station, and boy am I glad I went ahead and stayed there. Love the place the moment I stepped into the lobby, small but very lovely. The staff was helpful, accomodating and friendly, except for this guy who slammed the phone infront of us, I suspect some guests were making prank calls to the reception. But he was very nice to us.
Room was great! Huge room with huge bathroom, very spacious and very beautiful. It felt so luxurious after the many tiny rooms we had in our Italy trip. Location was good, just a stone's throw away from the shopping area, and sights but then again, Florence is pretty easy to walk everywhere. Waitress in the breakfast room was eager to please and friendly. Breakfast room is again very lovely, a nice way to start the day. I have no complaints at all about this hotel. If I ever return to Florence, I will definitly check myself in again. The only not so perfect thing was that our room has no view. It faces the building next door which is undergoing some restoration/upgrading work. Also, works at the piazza infront of the hotel is still not completed but this is all no fault of the management. Saw people hanging around the area but felt very safe. Everyone minded their own business.
