A bit of a "boutique" hotel; only 10 rooms, and typical European size (which doesn't bother me at all). Just by their behavior, I would guess that some of the desk staff were the owners. Even if not, still has the feel of a small operation. i.e., quite friendly.
Pros:
* Location: Can walk quickly to Piazza San Marco, but far enough away to avoid all of the negative spillover, and off of the beaten path.
* Building: Renovated to a fairly high standard, including both decor and quality.
* Staff: All very friendly, and helpful.
* Cost: Not too expensive; we paid about €100 per person per night.
* Extras: Very nice continental breakfasts, and A/C works great!
Cons:
* Only serious one is that some of the staff does not really speak English, which makes it difficult to do things like get directions.
As the subject says, overall, excellent!
