“Jesmond Dene Hotel - nice London hideaway with a great location”

Jesmond Dene Hotel

Aug 22, 2008

We recently stayed at the Jesmond Dene.

My basic requirements are that the rooms be clean and comfortable, and neither was an issue (i.e., it's a nice "tourist" hotel, not "upscale" but nice). The rate we payed seemed quite reasonable (breakfast included - not much selection ("full English breakfast" or cereal), but nevertheless a good jumpstart for a day of siteseeing). The staff were extremely helpful and efficient.

The hotel itself is located near the King's Cross/St Pancras underground and train station (maybe a 5 minute walk) with lots of decent restaurants nearby. The British Library is less than a 10 minute walk away, and the British Museum perhaps a 25 minute walk (or take the underground).

The location is good with reasonable rates, the rooms are clean and comfortable (albeit a tad small - but we're in Europe) and breakfast is included. I'd definitely stay here again.

One thing I should mention... when we stayed, the rooms were not air conditioned (fans were in the rooms - which, due to London's climate are sufficient for all but the hottest days). That said, they appeared to be in the process of installing A/C. If you feel your room must have A/C, then should probably contact the hotel directly and inquire about it.

We had a great overnight in this friendly little hotel! Just a stone's throw from King's Cross/St. Pancras, yet very quiet. Good breakfast too, set us up for a day's travelling. Many Thanks to all the staff.

“Good Clean Basic Room”

We stayed for 4 nights and had nobig complaints. We had the top floor for 4 people, winding stairs could be a chalange for some. The room was made up each day with clean towels, beds were made and the tea replenished. Breakfast was a short wait sometimes but worth it. The breakfast was egg, bacon, toast, sausage and baked beans which was very good. There was also cereal available OJ, coffee and/or tea. You need to pay in cash or there is a service charge but that goes for alot of B & B's. Good location about 1 1/2 blocks from Kings Cross underground. Request a main floor if you have limited mobility. Breakfast room in the basement.

We were a group of young people looking to find a nice place in a good location of London. Jesmond Dene Hotel was indeed a great choice, the personal is kind and the hotel is a very nice place to spend some time in London.

“Very, very good”

Jesmond Dene Hotel

Aug 19, 2008

A very good hotel and an excellent location,
right across St Pancras' station.

We arrived early but the staff was very friendly and allowed us to leave our luggage and go on exploring London.

The rooms where small but clean. We had a little water boiler and a (very welcome) van.

The room was cleaned every day as well!

Breakfast was lovely. If you didn't want a full english breakfast they could bring you toast and cereals.

All in all a wonderful little place. It's very well located and perfect if you want a simple but clean and good room!!!
