I was in Montréal from May 28th - June 3rd for business and a lil
pleasure time. I went with Au git'ann after I did a thorough search
on www.tripadvisor.com for an inexpensive and conveniently located b n' b. I always check bnb’s and hotels through trip advisor before I book them. It’s so important! Plus you get first hand knowledge of what other people/travelers just like you enjoyed and hated in an honest and straight forward way. Hey it can make or break a reservation for me.
I am so glad I went with Au git'ann. Not only is it centrally located and less than a 5 min walk to Berri-Uqam station but it’s close to
everything.
My room was the Crepescule room. A tiny lil room which was clean,
comfy and felt like a lil nest. I had to share a bathroom with
another guest - but luckily only twice during my 6 day stay. The
bathroom was clean, powerful hot shower after all a long day of
walking and just nice.
The inn keeper Ann was friendly, hospitable and outgoing. She gave
you the space you needed but was also there if you ever needed
anything. There was a lil moment of uncomfortable ness when I ‘mistakenly’ shut the curtains in the living when I was on the internet for privacy and she did not approve. But in the end it was fine.
The big bonus for me was that I opted to not go for the breakfasts
during my stay. Which worked out FANTASTIC! Often times I find
bnb's don't have what you want and you end up eating foods that don't
fill you up or make you feel good. I don't know about the breakfasts
here at Au git'ann - I am just speaking generally. Instead I just
went down to the local grocer and bought groceries and kept them in
the upstairs kitchenette fridge. I was in there often making cups of
tea and my meals for the day.
There was even internet access which was nice and convenient.
The only thing I wished for was that my room had a TV..but then again
it was nice to have a break and know I can survive without a TV when
I am on holiday. ;)
