My husband and I stayed at the Residence Inn for a week while we did the tourist thing around Toronto. The room was very nice, though the carpet was a bit dingy. We loved that it had a kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator and ice-maker, coffee maker, microwave and two-burner stove, as well as plates, glasses, cutlery and pots and pans. We didn't cook for ourselves, but it was nice to know that we could if we wanted! Bathroom was nice; everything seemed new. We had a great view of the CN Tower. Bed was nice and firm; we slept very well. TV was one of those widescreen TVs that automatically switches back to widescreen format every time you turn it on, which was annoying. Our room had a door to the adjacent room, and there were kids staying in there and we could hear them shrieking while they played, but otherwise it was very quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Elevators got a little too busy in the early evenings, and breakfast was a bit of a zoo, but the food was pretty good. No room service, but the phones had local takeaway places on speed-dial, and they provided a magazine listing nearby restaurants and their menus, so we didn't go hungry. The location was perfect, centrally located to everything we wanted to do, and just a block away from Second City. They had fruit-infused ice water in the lobby every day, which was very refreshing after a hot day walking around the city.
