This hotel deserves its TA rating. The location affords a short walk to varied food choices (King Street), CN Tower and Rogers Centre (baseball), and the Lake (Harbourfront, urban beach, and ferries to the Islands).
The free breakfast was quite good every morning. The closer you get to 9:00 am, the greater chance you have to stand in line briefly, but the staff keeps the process from devolving into a convention of starving vultures. Tables are quickly cleaned and the food is replenished frequently. One morning, the smiling receptionist reminded me not to leave my precious camera unattended on our table. (Another day, our alert maid told us we had left our room door ajar the day before and showed us how to close the door all the way. DUH!!)
A few tips:
1. Most maps won't show it, but there's an easier way than Blue Jays Way to walk to the Tower. From the hotel's street corner, look southeast and you'll see the CN and the ball park. Walk that way abnd you'll cross the RR tracks via a pedestrian bridge.
2. There's a small, 24 hour grocery store on the corner of Blue Jays a block north of Rogers Centre.
3. Wellington is a one-way street, but it's not congested.
4. Don't repeat my stupid tourist trick. The first morning, I didn't see a newspaper bin. I asked at the front desk, where I learned about the papers in the breakfast area. There was a selection of four (including USA Today). And they were free. Nice.
Our dollars were well spent.
