“very pleasant stay”

Residence Inn Toronto Downtown / Entertainment District

Aug 20, 2008

My husband and I stayed at the Residence Inn for a week while we did the tourist thing around Toronto. The room was very nice, though the carpet was a bit dingy. We loved that it had a kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator and ice-maker, coffee maker, microwave and two-burner stove, as well as plates, glasses, cutlery and pots and pans. We didn't cook for ourselves, but it was nice to know that we could if we wanted! Bathroom was nice; everything seemed new. We had a great view of the CN Tower. Bed was nice and firm; we slept very well. TV was one of those widescreen TVs that automatically switches back to widescreen format every time you turn it on, which was annoying. Our room had a door to the adjacent room, and there were kids staying in there and we could hear them shrieking while they played, but otherwise it was very quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Elevators got a little too busy in the early evenings, and breakfast was a bit of a zoo, but the food was pretty good. No room service, but the phones had local takeaway places on speed-dial, and they provided a magazine listing nearby restaurants and their menus, so we didn't go hungry. The location was perfect, centrally located to everything we wanted to do, and just a block away from Second City. They had fruit-infused ice water in the lobby every day, which was very refreshing after a hot day walking around the city.

“A wonderful break”

Residence Inn Toronto Downtown / Entertainment District

Just back from an great seven night stay in the Residence Inn. We picked this hotel for it's location to the CN Tower and other attractions and also because of it's excellent previous reviews and we were not disappointed.

We were greeted after a very long day of travel by Bryan, a very friendly staff member on the front desk, who gave us lots of tips on where to eat out visit etc and a room with an excellent view.

The room itself was a very good size and well laid out with all you could need, one downside for us was the bed was a bit on the firm side but not a major issue. The free wifi access was invaluable in assisting us in planning some of our trips.

Both breakfast and the lifts (we were on 20th floor) do get busy after about 8.30, but the staff are very quick to assist you and it's fine to take breakfast back to your room if you prefer.

This was our first trip to Canada and would definitely recommend visiting Toronto and staying at the Residence Inn.

“very nice hotel”

we stayed here for 3 nights from 29th July, two adults and two children, we found the rooms to be very clean, well done to the cleaning staff, and the furniture was very modern. The breakfast was very good, the staff were not the most friendly i have ever come across, it was a bank holiday and I,d say most of them were students, the barman was very friendly though. The hotel is situated very near to the CN tower and a short walk to the lake, for the shopping areas you need to take a taxi, only about 5 minutes though. The rooms having cooking facilities which is very usefull when you are traveling with children, we had a fridge microwave, two cooking rings and a dishwasher, all cooking utensils were supplied also.......I would highly recommed this hotel....

“Excellent for families”

Residence Inn Toronto Downtown / Entertainment District

Having had a disaster with a private accommodation in Toronto we decided to cut our losses and at 2am booked a two bedroom suite at the Residence Inn for 7 nights. What a surprise. This hotel is new, fresh and very well equipped. The location is quite central and we walked to various attractions with subway a 5 minute walk away.

With four small kids we were back in our rooms fairly early in the evenings. The two bed suite was excellent with two large bedrooms, with bathrooms and a pull-out sofa bed in the lounge. Our kids loved the 3 (!) televisions (parked in front of each bed) - no more arguments over what to watch!! The staff were very friendly and our check-in/out was dealt with efficiently and in a friendly manner. Breakfast is not very inspiring but kept us going until mid-afternoon each day. We felt it was excellent value for money as it was incredibly comfortable, clean and quiet and definitely made our stay in Toronto very enjoyable.

As a fussy hotel-stayer I would have no problem recommending this hotel to anyone looking for the comforts of home away from home.
