A group on friends were going on a boat cruise in Lake Ontario and I suggested we try and book a few rooms downtown so there would be no rush to get home after the cruise.
I found the Intercontinental through Hotwire, they had it rated as a four and a half star hotel, I would call them a four star at best.
The hotel is in a great area, and although rather small in relation to most of the hotels in the neighborhood it was nice.
From the front it's a very unassuming place (I am in that area regularly and I've never noticed it) but once you walk into the lobby it is set up nicely.
Check in was quick (I had reserved a room for 4, and they tried offering me a room with 1 king size bed)(something that they tried with several members of our group.
The interior of the hotel is nice, but seems small.
Once we got to the room we thought it was nice (in my mind a four and a half star hotel should wow you, this was just an ok room)
A few things I noticed that enforced my belief in a lowered rating.
Toilet paper was cheap, seemed like 1 ply.
No fan in the bathroom
Small television (the room held 2 beds, and was quote large but there was only a '27 tv.
On button on television was stuck in the on position.
Cheap clock radio (most higher end places will provide more than a $5.00 model).
In all I don't have any real criticysms other than petty things that I thought made this less than a four and a half star hotel.
