“Very Nice, Very $$$, Watch for the Construction.”

Well, we wanted to divert our trip to show our kids Toronto. Had a nice rate (relatively speaking) for the IC, and read good reviews of the property. It is a relatively unassuming property. Well located. Staff was nice, rooms were excellent. We were there on a weekend, and, looking out of our room was a huge construction site and a crane about 30 stories up. During the week, this could be an issue for you. As our dollar is now about worth a peso, the price of everything was about 2 to 3 x a US property. We came, we saw, we left. Staff was nice and the hotel was lovely. I would call and check about the construction before I'd go back again.

Me and my wife had a great time. Excellent service, bright rooms, great food. Just across the street is Royal Ontario Museum with the new addition. Beautiful Bloor Street shopping district literary steps away. We have booked our trip through Expedia (www.expedia.com) and we bought our burglar deterrent CD from www.DeterrentSounds.com), so we had a peace of mind when we left for vacation. Stayed: 7 days. Downtown Toronto.

This is a great hotel no matter how you look at it. I am a Priority Club member, and decided to use my PC points to stay at this property, and completely enjoyed it. My only complaint would be that the view from some of the rooms isn't great right at the moment with the construction going on on the adjoining property, but that was only a minor inconvenience.
The room was large and spotless, and the staff were friendly and professional. Parking was not too bad, considering the location. I never had a chance to use the restaurant, because I returned to the hotel too late in the evening, but thankfully there was a 24 hour McDonald's just steps away to satisfy a 1am hunger!
If you are there with your significant other, you can go up to the roof, and take a look at the excellent views of the city, or use the indoor, rooftop lap pool. ( the pool was a bit cold for my liking, but I'm picky.)

All in all, a beautiful hotel, on the edge of Yorkville, only a short walk to the shops and restaurants in the beautiful Yorkville neighbourhoods, or the high-end Bloor St. shops, just a couple of blocks away. Oh, and of course it's right across the street from the ROM.

“Great Hotel”

This is a beautiful Hotel. Lots of marble, very nice staff and very clean. It is a little bit away from Toronto and you would need a car. I would stay here again and although I'm probably the only person not to like Delta Chelsea in the city centre ( we must have got the cheap rooms) I wished we'd booked in here again on our return back to Toronto.

“Well Run Facility With A Great Attitude”

InterContinental Toronto Yorkville

My partner and I stayed at the InterContinental Toronto Yorkville to celebrate his 45th Birthday.

The InterContinental is located in a trendy part of town called Yorkville. There are lots of boutique stores and upscale restaurants in the area. A large University is also located nearby along with a very nice museum complex. The Casa Loma castle is also nearby...about 4 blocks Northwest of the hotel, if I remember correctly. I was concerned that most of the restaurants and bars that advertised in the local Toronto guide magazine were located in downtown Toronto...quite a distance from the hotel. Fortunately, the local restaurants and shopping in Yorkville were all more than satisfactory without being too touristy. Toronto's main Enteretainment District is located closer to the waterfront. So you might want to stay at the InterContinental Toronto in the Financial District if you want to be within walking distance of most of the big-name celebrity chef-run restaurants, bars and theaters.

The hotel staff is very friendly, attentive and helpful. The concierge staff provided us with assistance in finding some wonderful local restaurants and guidance in using the city's subway system.

The closest subway stop is a short 1/2 block walk from the hotel. The subway takes about 6 minutes to get to downtown Toronto's entertainment district. The subway uses tokens, but the token vending machines only take Canadian cash.

An inexpensive breakfast restaurant called Over Easy is located just steps from the hotel's main entrance. So are McDonalds, a Chinese restaurant and a currency exchange. Fine dining restaurants are also located around the hotel with a Morton's Steakhouse located just around the corner in the Park Hyatt Hotel. Another wonderful restaurant called Sassafraz is a few blocks away. If the restaurant side of Sassafraz is fully booked, walk to the other side of the restaurant and eat in the bistro / bar section. If you like cozy, dark, intimate restaurants walk a few extra blocks north of the hotel to Soto Soto. It's a higher-end Italian restaurant with a "wall of fame" featuring celebrities who have dined at the restaurant.

The hotel itself is U-shaped with inside rooms overlooking a central courtyard. The Intercontinental is a "low rise" hotel. I believe it is about 8 stories in height. A new hi-rise condominium is being built next door, but the construction noise did not affect our visit.

As with all InterContinental hotels, the room was pleasant with a nice firm bed, soft feather pillows and a cozy duvet. The tv is a standard tube-style unit which is housed in a armoire. The bathroom is large with a separate shower and tub. Housekeeping does a very good job of keeping everything tidy.
