I went on cruise with the family and we were staying here for that night before the cruise. Well we get to the hotel and they told me it was reserved for the hotel across town. Which is not true, cause I called the hotel directly. The little manager tried to talk his way out of it, but I didn't call an 800 number or book it through a travel site, I called them directly. So his lies didn't go far with me. Since it was less than 24 hour till my reservation, we had stay at the one across town, which not very convenient to the ship terminal. The other hotel had a fairly rude staff as well, but that seemed to be fairly common for Vancouver. Neither hotel is in that nice of areas. Live and learn

“Excellent value”

Ramada Limited Downtown

Sep 25, 2008

We had a party of six stay here before a cruise and had a positive experience. It is within walking distance of the cruise port. The front desk people, esp. a nice young, tall woman with a great smile who worked days, were top-rate. The rooms are small. but clean and decorated well. We stayed there before the cruise, but they let us store our luggage the next week after the cruise so we could explore the city. Also, one of the people in our party left a coat behind before the cruise and it was waiting for us when we returned afterward. An excellent value and an ideal location.

“Mixed feelings”

We stayed one night here and this is one of the hotels where we probably won't return to although the hotel is really not too bad.

The location is really convenient to explore Vancouver by foot. That's for sure the best part of this hotel. Also the rooms are okay.

I disliked most the 25$ valet parking which was the biggest parking cost on our 3 weeks trip accross Canada and the USA. Certainly when I read the disclaimer at the backside of my valet voucher which said that they could park your car on public parking and that they wouldn't take any responsabilities in case of damage, theft,....

The most negative suprise (not related to the hotel) was Vancouver itself with lots of homeless and drug addicted people around the city center. I have never seen so many before and it made us feel uncomfortable on many occassions. So probably we won't return anymore although the city itself is quite ok

“SImple and cosy hotel in a convenient location”

Ramada Limited Downtown

Aug 31, 2008

Three of us booked the suite (indicated in the website - suitable for 6 people) for a week. The suite was clean and in my opinion, just nice for 4 people. It was too small for 6. The free broadband access was great as 3 of us surfed the web simultaneously. The receptionists were helpful and assisted us in our requests diligently. The hotel location is conveniently situated and well within walking distance to shopping areas such as Robson and even Gastown (30 min walk). Will definitely consider staying in Ramada again if I return to downtown Vancouver.

“Lots of pleasant surprises!”

Ramada Limited Downtown

Aug 20, 2008

This is one very friendly hotel which we would not hesitate to recommend. We reserved there for the value but will be back because of the friendly staff and the location. We already knew that we could drop off our suitcases early but when we did that at 9:30 a.m., they gave us the key to our room at 9:30 a.m. because it was ready! The room itself was immaculate, with terry cloth robes and bottled water - all in downtown Vancouver for $149 per night! The room was a bit small (the king bed took up a lot of the room) but very comfy bed and efficient air conditioners. Transit at the door, seabus station 5-minute walk. Great location for sightseeing. As for the location, as long as you turn right when leaving the hotel, you will be fine. (Mind you, go left if you want to be in Chinatown in a few minutes). Breakfast is included with the room with TWO hot items (scrambled eggs with either pancakes or french toast) as well as the usual offerings, glass plates and staff on hand to help.
