I was not sure about this hotel even after reading the reviews here, but I thought I'd take a chance and book it anyway. It was a great surprise. When we first arrived, the street was bombarded with military vehicles and personnel and we were prevented from going down the street that the hotel was located on. We called the hotel and they said that they were still open and that the side of the street the hotel was on was open. We gave it a chance and were successful. Next challenge was getting into the underground parking. It was hard to see, but we finally saw the part where it said that hotel guests checking in had to dial for security to open the garage door. Parking was not a problem as there was always enough space. Parking was only $10 a day, I thought it would cost us $25 a day. They also posts signs letting you know that vehicle break-ins are a common problem in Vancouver, so we made sure that we took all valuables with us. Check-in was very easy and we were in our room within minutes. The room was very nice and the bed was very comfy. We chose to drive around the city and surprisingly we were a few blocks from Robson Street. It was a madhouse on Robson with all the vehicles and pedestrians. On top of that there was construction going on so traffice was a real pain. We decided to do the Big Bus tour and very conveniently, one of the stops is right in front of the hotel, so we just took the tour and hopped on and off the bus whenever we felt like exploring one of the 20 tour stops. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Georgian and would stay there again if were in Vancouver again.
