It is easy to get the big things right. The difference between a great place and a so-so place are the little details. The Georgian Court does the details.
After searching online for a while, we finally setteled on the Georgian Court for our Vancouver stay. It was a little more pricy than other downtown hotels, but rated highly on this site. I now know why.
First off, the location is very good. It was an easy walk to Yaletown, Robson Street, Gastown, China Town, and stations for the light rail and the Aquabus. We had a car, but never used it. A car would only be needed for Stanley Park or the attractions off of the downtown peninsula.
The facility was very nice. They did all of the little details right: robes, tourism information, double sheets, extra pillows and towels, coffee/tea bar, extra phones, etc. The room was also very clean, very quiet, and in the morning, very dark.
The staff was also first class. There was never a wait at the front desk. They were helpful with directions and recommendations. And most impressive, when their was a problem with getting the room safe open, they were very responsive and dedicated in fixing the problem when they could have easily dismissed us and told us that we had to wait for the technician hours later. The extra effort and care was very impressive.
This place is worth the little extra expense!
