“I thought it was fine”

Delta Vancouver Suites Hotel

I stayed here with my staff (had 6 rooms booked) for a weekend convention.

It is not in the best part (nor the really bad) of Vancouver BUT walk one block either way and you are in prime tourist area. Quick stroll to Canada Place, Gastown. We ended up loving the location!

Valet Parking was $27.00, which is normal for downtown Vancouver and worth every penny. Car was right there within minutes of ordering it. Staff in whole hotel were charming and really went out of their way to make sure our stay was good.

Suites were large enough as were the bathrooms and beds were comfortable. Elevator had to be carded before they allowed guests to go up and sometimes they didn't work, using after using the elevator phone they magically worked.

Internet was a added charge through ours was comped but I think internet should be included in the price, most hotels already do this.

I am already planning to return here next year and would advise my friends and family to use this hotel. we all enjoyed our stay. :)

“Delta Suites Stayover”

Delta Vancouver Suites Hotel

We were staying at the Delta Suites overnight for a pre-cruise stay. My husband had called the previous day to confirm our 2 rooms for 6 people. When we got to the hotel (about 5 a.m.). they told us that they only had one room. The staff was very helpful, and tried to remedy the situation. They gave us 2 penthouse suites, in which we were barely able to get a cot. I can't imagine how small the rest of the suites must be! The room had very dated decor, but everything was clean. Again , the staff was very apologetic and helpful.

“Solid Hotel”

Delta Vancouver Suites Hotel

Hotel is pretty close to being right downtown. Close to all bus routes/sea bus. Tim Horton's right down the street but other fast food chains are not nearby. Close to cruise ship terminal (it was $8 including tip) - we could have walked but it was raining.

Staff were very helpful and friendly. Explained bus routes, provided rebate coupons, insisted on helping with luggage and provided good advice all around. Provided umbrellas for use when it was raining.

There are three components to the room - a bathroom, a sitting room (two chairs, tv, desk, minibar) and then a little room with the bed, another tv and drawers. It's not a solid wall between the bedroom area and the suite area.

We booked through our travel agent using anderson vacations to get a lower rate.

Free use of internet computer for checking in to airplane. Otherwise it's $10/24 hours for internet in your room.

In store gift shop is small and a little overpriced.

“Nice location”

We stayed 2 nights here. The only complaint is $9.95 plus tax for the internet. Feel now days in a hotel it should be included in the price. Most everywhere I stay internet is free!!! Parking was $26 a day but it was valet parking and it was downtown so for me I found it fine. Beds were very comfortable and overall room large. With small living area and bedroom. (I booked it as a 2 bed hotel room). It is close to shopping and the famous Gastown area. Had a small problem with the bill in the end and there was NO problems getting it resolved. I would love to spend more time in Vancouver and I would stay here again.

“Good choice for Vancouver”

Delta Vancouver Suites Hotel

5 of 5 stars
Chapel Hill, NC

Vancouver is a wonderful city, and the Delta Suites Hotel is an excellent place to stay. It is in a very convenient location, near the harbor and Gastown. Plus, using Vancouver's superb bus system, you can easily get pretty much anywhere from the hotel.

Our suite consisted of a bedroom with two queens and a living room with a sofa bed for our daughter. The rooms were compact but didn't feel cramped. The suite was on the north side of the building, giving us a lovely view of the harbor. For the best view, ask for a room on the highest floor available. We would have liked to stay on one of the Signature Club floors, which are the highest floors in the hotel. But unfortunately kids under 19 can't stay on those floors because of Canadian liquor laws, I guess because of the associated lounge.

The suite had excellent amenities: all of the usual things you'd expect plus free (wired) Internet and an in-room safe that was big enough for a laptop and all of our other electronic gizmos. (Tip: Take an Apple Airport or similar wireless router along, plug it into the in-room ethernet, and have the convenience of wireless in your room.)

The business center had several computers and printers suitable for printing boarding passes and the like. The fee was $3 per 15 minutes, which seemed reasonable, and you could create an account to bank unused minutes.

The hotel staff was without exception friendly and anxious to please.

The hotel restaurant looked fine, but we did not sample it. Too many other places to try! For breakfast, we liked the Caffe Artigiano, a short walk down Hastings Street. For dinner, the Salt Tasting Room, located in an alley in Gastown, is great fun.
