“Good choice for Vancouver”

Vancouver is a wonderful city, and the Delta Suites Hotel is an excellent place to stay. It is in a very convenient location, near the harbor and Gastown. Plus, using Vancouver's superb bus system, you can easily get pretty much anywhere from the hotel.

Our suite consisted of a bedroom with two queens and a living room with a sofa bed for our daughter. The rooms were compact but didn't feel cramped. The suite was on the north side of the building, giving us a lovely view of the harbor. For the best view, ask for a room on the highest floor available. We would have liked to stay on one of the Signature Club floors, which are the highest floors in the hotel. But unfortunately kids under 19 can't stay on those floors because of Canadian liquor laws, I guess because of the associated lounge.

The suite had excellent amenities: all of the usual things you'd expect plus free (wired) Internet and an in-room safe that was big enough for a laptop and all of our other electronic gizmos. (Tip: Take an Apple Airport or similar wireless router along, plug it into the in-room ethernet, and have the convenience of wireless in your room.)

The business center had several computers and printers suitable for printing boarding passes and the like. The fee was $3 per 15 minutes, which seemed reasonable, and you could create an account to bank unused minutes.

The hotel staff was without exception friendly and anxious to please.

The hotel restaurant looked fine, but we did not sample it. Too many other places to try! For breakfast, we liked the Caffe Artigiano, a short walk down Hastings Street. For dinner, the Salt Tasting Room, located in an alley in Gastown, is great fun.

We have just returned from 5 nights at the Delta and had a fantastic experience from start to finish.
The staff were pleasant and helpful, the rooms clean and the facitilites of good quality.
We didn't sample the resourant for tea but had breakfast in the dining room which was acceptable if a little lacking as the morning wore on.
The suite was spacious and comfortable as well as being extremely quiet, we didn't see or hear anyone else whilst there, a real bonus!
Unfortunately the pool is no longer available as the hotel cannot guarantee the safety of their guests when sharing the facility with the apartement block next to to whom the pool belongs.
The hotel appears to be in a slightly dodgy area but walking roughly 1 block in most directions gets you out of that sort of area very quickly.
Location also good for access to most areas and right across the street from the Lookout! observation deck
I would recommend this hotel for people staying in Vancouver and would stay here again.

Our family of four stayed at the Delta on our first trip to Vancouver and loved both the city and the hotel.

Rooms are large and well equipped. Food in the bar & restaurant was of good quality with excellent service. Front desk staff were particularly helpful.

The location is very good, with most major tourist attactions within walking distance.

We didn't have any problems with the neighbourhood as some reviewers have suggested. This is a big city and, regretably, there will always be some down and outs begging small change. The key difference is that this is Vancouver, so most will say please and thank you.

“Great Stay”

Delta Vancouver Suites Hotel

We just came back from a 3 night stay at this property. The staff from the receptionists to the housekeepers were great and very accomodating. The location was excellent. Near the cruise ship, restaurants, and shops. Complimentary wired internet was great since other hotels charged $15-20/nite. The premier room was nice and clean although the Tvs brought us back to the late 80s. But they worked great anyway. We actually switched room from a premier corner king with a single pullout sofabed to a premier queen with a double pullout sofabed. The queen room layout was better for us with two small kids. And it seemed the bathroom was a bit larger too. Parking was a pain since the hotel charged $25 valet/nite. You could save money by parking at a lot across the hotel for $20/nite. But seriously, you don't need a car at all. We ended up using the public transportation without any problems, even with small kids. If you'd like to go swimming, the hotel would give you a pass to the local Y, which was only a couple of blocks away.

“Nice hotel with large bedrooms”

Delta Vancouver Suites Hotel

4 of 5 stars
York, Engalnd
Aug 7, 2008

The Delta is an all suite hotel so the rooms are large and very comfortable. As with othe Delta hotels I've stayed in, the bed was fantastic. The hotel is in a fairly good position very close to the seafront and gas town area.

We checked in late in the afternoon (after 4 pm) and our room was still not available which was a bit dissapointing considering the stated check in time was 3 pm. As the room was still not available 45 mins later we were eventually upgraded to a signature suite.
