Prior to our cruise we researched Cozumel in order to find out what our options were for spending one day in Cozumel. We have two small children, 5 and 7, so visiting the ruins could not compare to spending one day on a beautiful catamaran sailing 'around' cozumel. We contacted Dan and Karen via Cozumelsailing.com, and booked in advance. Dan and Karen were very accomodating and made some arrangements so we could sail that day. They were also very helpful and informed us about the time difference in between ship's time and Cozumel time. In that regards the Carnival Cruise line faltered. They never informed their guests about the time difference which resulted in some guests almost being left behind in Cozumel. Dan and Karen told us to take a taxi to Puerto di Abrigo ($6), and when we we got there the captain was waiting for us. What we liked about our day: they take in between 8 and 14 people, so it's not crowded nor massive but personal. The captain and first mate were very friendly and they made great Margarita's and a tasteful BBQ Mexican Style. We also went 'spinaker flying/dipping' or whatever it's called, where you sit on a swing under the spinnaker and fly and dip into the ocean, THIS WAS GREAT! All in all I can only say that I could not have imagined spending a more wonderful day than I did when sailing with the Toucan.
