Have you ever felt let down by someone or something that you absolutely LOVED? We have... and it was Playa Fiesta Beachclub and Hotel that let us down.

Both my fiancé and I researched and researched wedding resorts and we stumbled upon Playa Fiesta Beachclub and Hotel. We quickly fell in love with the website and the reviews. We spend hours reading every review, looking at every picture and talking to others about our dream wedding at Playa Fiesta. After making the decision to have our wedding there we planned a mini-trip to see it for ourselves and to meet with Adam the owner and his wife Lindsey the wedding coordinator. We had every intention of setting up our big day and we couldn't wait....we knew everything that we wanted, after all we spent hours comparing pictures and deciding what we liked best.
During our flight to Puerto Vallarta I had tears of joy in my face. I could not stop thinking about the experience that we were about to embark on.

After arriving at Puerto Vallarta my fiancé and I hopped in a taxi.... and that's where our nightmare began......

We had an eye opening ride through the city of Puerto Vallarta. We were both under the assumption that when arrived at Playa Fiesta we would be in a nicer, cleaner, and safer area but we were not! Much to our surprise as we exited the cab we realized that Playa Fiesta is located on a hill, on an extremely small road, with in an unattractive setting. We were shocked at our discovery because the view from the front of the hotel is nothing like what expected from the website.

We were greeted by the hotel staff and were impressed with their friendly attitude and help. This was comforting but then they checked us in and brought us to our room where were speechless. After the hotel staff left us in our room we sat down and pondered what we had just gotten ourselves into. I never felt as helpless and naive as I did in that moment. My fiancé was feeling let down!!

To help you visualize and understand our disappointment I will describe the room that we had. The room was not maintained, not insect free, it had paper thin walls, the air conditioner dripped onto the floor and barely worked, the door handle fell off from the inside, and overall it did not meet the expectations that you would expect of a hotel that is rated so highly!

After much discussion and a feeling of emptiness in our stomachs we decided to give it a chance and attended a tasting that we had scheduled with Adam and Lindsey. The tasting took place in the outside restaurant at the hotel. In the same place where wedding receptions take place. The restaurant is small and located Oceanside... this was a plus... but the only one!
We sat through a tasting with Adam and Lindsey and although we were unhappy with the location we had an open mind and discussed wedding plans. We wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Adam was defensive and surprised that we were disappointed. He made us feel uncomfortable and tried very hard to impress us with his sales pitch...I would compare Adam to a car salesman! Lindsey on the other hand was very sweet and tried hard to relieve our anxiety. She was the reason that we made it through the dinner. After the dinner we walked around the resort and it did not take long. There really is not much to it. There are two small pools, one bar, and a restaurant. You can't get lost. I have to mention that the staff that works there were extremely friendly and tried their best to help us.

As for Adam... he dismissed us after dinner and we never saw or heard from him again. He never checked on us or invited us to discuss the hotel any further. The next morning we decided to check out and go to another resort in Nuevo Vallarta and spent the remaining days of our stay there! We will not be returning to Playa Fiesta Beachclub and Hotel.

My husband and I booked our week long wedding at Playa Fiesta without ever visiting the resort first. We reviewed every comment on tripadvisor, and if so many people hand such great things to say, then this hotel must be good. Good is not the word I would use to describe our experience at Playa Fiesta. Perfect, would be the word mostly used by our family, friends, and most importantly the bride and groom.

What makes this hotel so special is the atmosphere! It is wonderfully intoxicating and addictive as each day becomes more and more memorable. From the accommodations, to the staff, everything has been beautifully choreographed by Adam and Lindsay. We were amazed by how much relaxation and "no stress" we had during our wedding week. How many brides can say that the week leading up to her wedding, was 100% stress free! The most I had to worry about was should I get a Margarita, or Mojito! TIP: Charlie makes the best Mojitos.

It has been 5 weeks since my wedding and every morning Chris and I get ready for work, we look at each other and say, " I miss Playa Fiesta."

I have to admit before my experience at Playa Fiesta, I was a little skeptical about the resort. Even after reading every post, and talking to Adam and Lindsay personally on a weekly basis. I kept telling myself, " be ready for disaster." But I am pleased to say like so many other Brides have already posted on tripadvisor, "Playa Fiesta has been the greatest vacation experience I have ever had."

Thank you Lindsay for doing such an amazing job for my wedding. Lindsay is the best wedding coordinator in the business. No one can come close to how wonderful she is, and how special she made me feel for my wedding.

Ok, so it has been one month since our fabulous wedding week in Puerto Vallarta and I have been missing it ever since!!! I searched all over for the perfect wedding location and stumbled upon this unique boutique and fell in love. After a fantastic visit last July, I was ready to put my wedding plans into the hands of Lindsay and Adam. Here is a description of our experience, but again....words simply cannot descibe how amazing, breathtaking, and unforgettable our week was.

This will be a long one!!!

July 2007: I was greeted at the front desk by name and as soon as we were let into our gorgeous and chilly room (it was HOT in July) my phone rang and Adam invited my sister and I to the bar for a complementary drink. We then had a tasting with Adam and Lindsay and the food was amazing...but more than that we had FUN!! we stayed up chatting away with them, and the staff. After a few days of never wanting to leave the hotel for food or adventure because it was so wonderful, I knew I had found the place I was going to get married.

Planning: This was the part that made me nervous about having a destination wedding! Lindsay was available any time day or night to discuss various ideas and she was always full of helpful suggestions. She gave me the most amazing personal attention which helped alleviate my anxiety and fears. We worked together on a daily basis for over a year and I can truely say we are not just wedding coordinator/bride, but friends!! By the time I arrived for our wedding week, I knew everything would run smoothly from start to finish!!
The hotel is so beautiful, you really do not need much ias far as decorations, I brought small items and gift bags for the guests, but as for wedding decor we went simple and classic....it was GORGEOUS!!

The wedding week: My fiance` had never seen Playa Fiesta and had heard me talk it up for over a year, so suffice to say, he was ready to be impressed,and was he ever! The moment we arrived we were escorted to our beautiful room, served chilled champagne, and then we settled in on our deck listening to the waves crash against the rocks. This sound is like nothing else, I would fall asleep to it each night. We spent two days being pampered and enjoying the last bit of peace and quiet. Lindsay arranged a wonderful spa day and dinner on the beach which I highly recommend to a bride and groom before guests begin to arrive.
As soon as our guests got there, all we heard for the rest of the week were rave reviews. They had never been somewhere so beautiful and special, with kind staff, a fun atmosphere, delicious food, breathtaking views, and private as the Playa Fiesta. The staff are amazing and they will know you by name and your preferred drink before the end of the week!! Which by the way, best margarita's EVER!! and the food-AMAZING!! Everyone loved their rooms, the views, the pools, the music, the dog, and of course the staff and Lindsay!! We had the most amazing week hanging by the pool, dinners in town as a group at Pipi's and El Dorado-recommend both!! The Outdoor Adventure Tour, and wandering the city of Puerto Vallarta.

The big day!! I cannot say how amazing our wedding day was, I was relaxed and my bridesmaids had fun hanging out in our suite getting pampered. Mynow husband went surfing with his groomsmen while Lindsay and the staff took care of setting everything up. We had a beautiful ceremony and ended the night with a pool party fully dressed till dawn!!

You all made my wedding dreams come true, made two families and separate friends come together in a way I could not have imagined! Lasting memories and friendships were made that week, and Larry and I will never forget our wedding!! We will be coming back to Playa Fiesta for years to come, maybe we will even buy a condo!!! We love you guys, thank you for everything!

To future wedding couples: BOOK THIS HOTEL!! you will have a five star wedding for a fraction of the cost in the states! You can have fireworks, amazing food, outstanding service, views, and relaxation!! Not to mention being able to have a vacation like none other with your closest friends and family!!!!!!! The Burgess's will take care of everything from the moment you reserve all the way up to the drive back to the airport to head home. Words cannot describe how I feel about this hotel, I get teary-eyed just thinking about our wedding and our new friends and cannot wait to return for another wedding or vacation!!

I've been to Playa Fiesta twice now... once as a wedding guest a few years ago and this last time as wedding photographer. I suppose this gives me a somewhat unique perspective.

As a guest: You will not find a better hotel. Rooms are beautiful and clean. The grounds are well maintained. The food is amazing. The scenery is gorgeous. I think the biggest selling point though is the staff. Owners Adam and Lindsay are true professionals and their professionalism trickles down to their staff. From housekeeping to bar staff to kitchen staff, they all treat you like family. In my opinion, you can't put a price on that kind of service.

As photographer: I was part of the 'behind the scenes' activity of a Playa Fiesta wedding. For all you brides out there reading these reviews let me tell you... You will LOVE Lindsay. She is simply amazing at coordinating events, and she will make sure you are perfectly happy on your big day. Combine Lindsay's talents with the hotel staff I described above and you have a perfect combination. I wish every wedding I shot could be so beautiful and well put together.

One last note... As I mentioned earlier, I first visited this hotel as a guest several years ago. On this second visit, I found it absolutely astonishing that many of the hotel staff that were still working at the hotel actually remembered my name! That's ridiculous when you think of how many events and guests move through this hotel over the years (and I don't think I'm THAT memorable of a person)!
For your wedding, you and your family and friends can basically take over this awesome little hotel - You should jump at the opportunity!
