“A MUST when on the island”

We booked a boat trip for a group of seven to stingray city and the barrier reef. Peter met us promptly at Kaibo. He was fun, informative and friendly. We felt like we had excellent personal attention. He let us snorkel at the reef (best snorkeling we had all week!) for as long as we desired.

It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!

We are frequent cruisers and have been to Grand Cayman many times. We weren't interested in snorkeling at the shipwreck fifty feet from the ship, or going to Stingray City. They are fun, but we've done them many times before. We ran across Fat Fish Adventures while looking for a jet boat rental (cause we like to go fast) and set up a private tour to go boating, snorkeling, and grab lunch away from the crowds. We met up with Peter, and he took us out for a great time! We enjoyed speeding along the open water, and visiting the mangroves. He also took us snorkeling in places that are too shallow for larger boats, so there was no one else there. It was so nice to have a knowledgeable person be able to tell us exactly what we were seeing. Peter was able to answer my husband's decade long question: Why don't you ever see lobster in the Caribbean? The answer was that we were looking in the wrong places. Peter took us to a spot where we saw tons of lobster. It was so cool! After snorkeling the morning away, we took the Sea Doo to a restaurant for crab fritters and other fantastic food. Peter is so laid back and fun! It felt like we were hanging out with a old friend. He tailored our trip to be exactly what we wanted to do, for as long as we wanted to do it. We will be returning to Grand Cayman in April 2009, and we will be hanging out with Peter and Fat Fish Adventures again!

Fat Fish Adventures is a great way to see Stingray City.
We were a group of four and took to the water on jet skis.
Our guide Peter and Adian were great, they let us explore and get a real feel for the Waters, yet kept a close eye on us. Peter is filled with so much information and knows secret spots for fantastic snorkeling adventures.
I highly recommend Fat Fish Adventures.

“Peter Jervis is the best...”

When my wife found out I had booked a tour with Fat Fish instead of the usual "shore excusion" from our cruise ship on our stay in Grand Cayman, well, she was a bit skeptical to say the least. At the conclusion of the tour, she could not have asked for a better experience.

Fat Fish is run by Peter Jervis, Peter was waiting for us at the agreed upon location and promply headed out to purchase some Stingray food and oil for the boat ( a 24' center console). We originally wanted to do the jet ski or jet boats but Peter suggested this boat due to the age of our children. My two youngest have never seen the ocean before and Peter set them at ease right away, even allowing our 11 yo daughter to pilot the boat our to stingray city. What a blast for her.

When we got there, we could not believe our eyes. Crystal clear water, white sand bar, and not another boat around. As soon as Peter dropped anchor, ghostly figures start to appear in the water. Our kids, and my wife, were very apprehensive about getting in the water but Peter explained everything and what to expect. He knew most fo the rays by name and after calming our fears "caught" one and held it for us to pet. they were everywhere! He even caught one for me and caught "Frisbee" , a ray without a tail, for my wife to hold. What an experience. After feeding them and enjoying what seemed like two hours in the water, Peter took us Conch hunting on the bar. We were not envious of the cruise ship excursion boats with their 20 or 30 passengers that came up as were were leaving to go snorkeling.

Peter took us to a very beautiful place just off of rum point to do some snorkeling . Again what an experience for my kids.
All in all we all gave it two big thumbs up. Definately the highlight of our whole cruise experience. Great value for the dollar also. We hightly recomend this place and Peter!

“Put HUGE smiles on our 16 year old's face!!!”

This was amazing and the absolute highlight of their cruise.
(DH says: This was a great excursion. Pete is the owner/operator of Fat Fish Adventures and has been doing different tours for over 15 years. The instructions he gave to the pickup point were excellent. We showed up approx 30 min early just in case there were any hitches. In no time a gentleman crossed the street and introduced himself and said “Lets go”. We had a 20 min ride to his boat ramp. He proceeded to tell us of his history and pointed out several points of interest on the way. He stopped to pickup some stingray food at a convenient store. My DS16 got a soda and was given Cayman dollars in change (souvenir). Upon arriving at the boat ramp Pete briefed us on safety issues and concerns. Our excursion was suppose to be 2-2.5 hours long but was almost 3.5-4 hours long. We proceeded to Stingray City. Once we hit open water we were almost full throttle the whole time! DS16 and cousin 16 both had a blast and wanted to do this excursion over and over. The further out you go, the choppier and the rougher the ride. Being guys we didn’t care much. But hang on and obey safety rules. You can still do this with little ones but at a much lower speed. Once at Stingray City, Pete went ahead and motioned us one at a time to proceed and he tied the jet skis to anchor. This was my second time to Stingray City and it’s still cool. Pete is very knowledgeable and took time to explain more about stingrays. Feeding them was a highlight. Once they know you have food, they seem to come out of no where. We then left for a private resort beach and bought drinks and hung out. The restaurant had not opened yet or we would have gotten lunch. Next we rode to Rum Point. This is another beach to relax on and food is also available but more expensive than the previous stop. We did not stay but started back. It was a good ride and a great tour. The tours are set but can be customized. This was my best experience and best value on any of our cruise excursions. We gave them a generous tip because it was such a great, personalized trip. If you want to Jet Ski to Stingray City pick Fat Fish Adventures. Thanks Pete. )
