Hi everybody, myself and my sister are coming from ireland to boston to celebrate my sisters 23rd birthday, we plan to go for a nice meal and a few drinks and then go clubbing. does anybody have any tips as to where we can find a good club as we love to dance, and also any tips for a good restraunt. we are stayin at the midtown. thanks in advance. |

"The Alley" On boylston after Charles and before Tremont. Landsdowne Street near Fenway park. Good restaurants are all over the place. You should post a price range.

thanks for the tips, our budget is fairly moderate, but because of it being a special occasion the cost is not an object. do u know of any clubs that play good hiphop music?
|
I don't go to the hip hop clubs but I am sure there is one in The Alley. Someone will give you the right info. If not...on the way to The Alley...stop at The Four Season's Hotel. Ask for Steven..he is one of the doormen. He will clue you in on the right spots. He works the 3-11 shift...tuesday-Sat. The Four Seasons is on Boylton between Arlington and Charles.

thats brilliant thanks alot for your help, im really looking forward to the trip.

Felt is a good multi-level club. One floor is usually hip-hop. The Alley is also good in that you can feel out which club is best for you when you get there (there are multiple clubs all next to each other). Another choice is the Roxy, but it has different themes for different nights. Or there's another club right nearby if that doesn't work out--Aria. Actually all these places are within a quick walk of each other. You will need to keep your wits about you however. By the way, you will not be able to dance the night away: bars in Boston close at 2:00AM!! Teatro would be a great choice for your restaurant. Half a block from the Alley, around the corner from Felt, a block and a half to the Roxy. Make a reservation.

thanks for the info keep my wits about me?? are they rough places, i mean do they attract a dodgey crowd lol. as for the clubs closing at 2, well dublin have just brought in club laws and we also have to close at 2 so that wont bother me too much haha. i will try the restraunt also, thanks for the recommendation.

The area is fine but I have not been out at 2:00 a.m. in a bit. In case you don't know, South Boston..aka Southie..is the place with the better Irish Pubs.

Hey - I love the hip hop scene Boston has to offer. Here are some suggestions: Tuesday - Rumor, which is near Tremont Street Wednesday - District Lounge, 180 Lincoln Street Thursday night - Revolution Rock Bar Friday night - Saint in Boston, on the corner of St.James and Exeter St. Friday - Middlesex in Cambridge, Central Sq on Massachusetts ave but you HAVE to get there by 9:30pm otherwise you'll have to wait in line forever. Friday - Rumor; Felt Saturday - Whiskey Park (expensive drinks but great music) Saturday - Middlesex Saturday - Rumor Sunday - Saint Restaurants on Newbury and Boylston st are all good. Anything else? :)

And you don't have to worry about anything being "dodgy". Just be smart. People are out until 3 out in Boston. No offense but I don't recommend Landsdowne Street, Roxy or Aria. Roxy has turned a bit trashy and Aria is too expensive for what it has to offer. And Landsowne Street doesnt have the clubs it used to have.. Make sure to get on the guestlist for these clubs and get there by 10:30 or 11(or 9:30 for middlesex). You can visit www.eastcoastclubs.com and get on the guestlist for their hip hop nights that they promote.

r2reetu: No offense taken on Lansdowne. I never really liked it there when I was clubing. Nice list and my hat's off to you.
