On November 14 we landed at JFK, we took a taxi to 115 w 40 street (Manhattan - NYC) and we discovered that the apartment we had rented through graigslist.org did not exist!! Our taxi driver was very kind and patient and brought us to Comfort Inn Chelsea. Michael, the kind guy at the reception desk, was very helpful and,... more

I have stayed in several Manhattan hotels over the past year. The Comfort Inn in Chelsea was very nice, especially for its price range, and goes on the list of places I'd be happy to return to if my favorites are not available for a reasonable price. Pleasant, efficient staff; not over-the-top, but the hotel posts its "Satisfaction Guarantee" at... more

The Comfort Inn Chelsea is one of the handful of hotels in NYC where you can get a nice, clean, centrally-located room with a decent bed and not spend a giant wad of money. I stayed there in August 2008 during the height of the tourist season for $225 + tax and I've regularly booked sub $200 rooms on off-peak... more

My mam and dad booked our family (5 total) into the Comfort Inn Chelsea, Manhattan last October as they were celebrating their 25th Anniversary. Every one of us agreed that the Comfort Inn is exactly what you need in New York. It is close to the Subway, walking distance to Times Square, near good restaurants and stores. YET.....it is on... more

I stayed here on a trip with family. My parents had been to this hotel once and liked it enough to return. It beat everything around it cost-wise by far. It was conveniently located for us in the middle of Chelsea where we were attending an art exhibit opening. We were easlily able to walk to subway entrances to get... more

Stayed here for a short weekend trip to the City. Room was clean and comfortable. The room was small, but that is typical for NYC. Lowest price I could find for staying in the City. Staff was exceptional. Very Friendly - Check in was a breeze. Would definately stay here again. more

You know how people say a hotel in NYC - 'It's just a place to sleep'? That's what this is. But you can get a surprisingly good sleep here. The beds are comfortable and the pillows amazing. I was tempted to try to put one in my suitcase (But of course I didn't). The room was tiny: if you left... more

My recent stay at the Comfort Inn Chelsea was a huge surprise. I arrived early on the day on my check-in (12 PM) and asked if a room was available. They placed me in room 303 which actually turned out to be a two room suite. It was the largest hotel room I have ever had in NYC. I opened... more

By New York standards, this hotel is a great deal. The location is very good, especially for someone who wants to be near the Village, Union Square or, as the name implies, Chelsea. It's even convenient to other parts of town as subways are right nearby. The hotel is clean and modern. The staff are relatively courteous and efficient. Yes,... more

When we first arrived, the exasperated staff gave us a very shabby and cramped room that reeked of cigarettes, with a step-up bathroom and a window looking out onto a garbage-strewn and barbed wire-filled lot. Granted, it was only $200 a night in Manhattan, but still. So we asked for another room, and despite the staff's protests, they gave us... more
