Our comments about Park Manor Suites are below based on our July, 2008, stay. Pros: The bed was very comfortable. Cons: Listed below 1) There was a chair in the room with a cracked leg that might very well have collapsed if too much weight had been placed on it. 2) There were numerous electrical code violations - three prong... more

The hotel is older as some others have commented, but everything about my stay was excellent. Let me just turn to some other's comments that stick in my mind. The location is fine if one has a car. Naturally it can be reached by taxi. Once there it was possible to walk to a busy area around Sixth and University.... more

My wife and I (and 14 month old) stayed at the Park Manor Suites for one week in late June and it lived up to its billing - both good and the "not as good". We found the reviews herein to be quite accurate and very informative. Essentially, the hotel is older and is a "character" or heritage-style property. If... more

Searched many places for Bride to stay night before wedding and us to stay night of wedding. We were looking for a nice room that would not break the bank, as we had already spent a lot on the honeymoon. Got a 1 bedroom, and Room was spacious enough for bride and 4 bridesmaids to get ready in. Had a... more

My family and I just returned from a stay at the Park Manor Suites, and I could not recommend it more! We stayed in a huge 2 bedroom suite on the 3rd floor, and it was fantastic! The rooms were huge, and beautifully decorated. The entire hotel is charming and classic. We found the rooms to be very clean and... more

Park Manor is an older property located adjacent to Balboa Park. The staff is welcoming, gracious, and accommodating. The local patrons in the bar/restaurant were also friendly. The complimentary breakfast served at the rooftop fulfilling. We enjoyed the young families who were also guests at the hotel. My husband and I were very pleased to have found Park Manor. When... more

All rooms are suites, i.e., you can relax in a comfortable room, enjoy those leftovers or more to the point, purchase some foods at that nearby (relatively) Whole Foods on university. Excellent dining and cocktails in the restaurant/lounge. If you are fortunate to have Frank as your wait person, listen to his recommendations. He is a professional wait person with... more

I searched for a hotel that was away from downtown but within easy access to everything. I booked a two bedroom suite with balcony overlooking Balboa park for two people attending a conference at the Convention Centre in mid-May. We were absolutely thrilled with this hotel on Spruce Street and 5th. The suite was a character suite (meaning that when... more

I really enjoyed my stay here. I don't think there needs to be much updating in the room. I really enjoyed the rustic/vintage feel of the hotel. Balboa park is directly across the street. Parking is FREE unlike most California hotels and so is the continental breakfast (cereal, fresh fruit, bagels, yogurt, etc). Stay here! I got a great deal... more

I'm really glad I decided to stay at the park monor suites with my kids last week (it was one of the two hotels i stayed at). We stayed in a handicap accessable room ( i dunno why) but it was great. We had a great view of the park, and the room was very clean. I was disappointed with... more
