We have just returned from three nights at the Tarragon. After reading all the reviews on Tripadvisor our expectations were very high........ we weren't disappointed. Originally we were booked to stay in Saffron, however six months before going Mark (the owner) contacted me to see if we wouldn't mind swapping to Silverweed for the same price (a seperate house not... more
A group of 13 of us flew all the way from Hawaii to Cape Town and stayed in three cottages at the Tarragon. It could not have been a better choice! The staff was excellent, the grounds are immaculate, and the cottages are spectacular. The set up for a small group like ours was absolutely perfect, since we had a... more
This was a fantastic place. We were so pleased with the accomodation. It was so comfortable and stylish. The property felt like our own private get away. Mark and his staff were so pleasant and professional. I really appreciated all his advice about local attractions/ restaurants. I also appreciated Mark going above and beyond by loaning us toys for our... more
My wife and I stayed at the Tarragon for 6 days and had a glorious time. The accommodations were perfect. We stayed in the Jasmine suite and found it comfortable with all the amenities you could want. The grounds are beautifully kept and the staff is always ready to please. Mark and Julia truly make you feel as if you... more
The Tarragon was a haven of tranquillity. We had 3 separate stays there during our holiday( which lasted a month) as we used Cape Town as a base. The owner Mark (ex-Brit) was very efficient and the arrangements worked excellently. If you like moderate self-catering ,we would recommend this accommodation. Mark is always there with recommendations for you if you... more
My husband and I travelled to Cape Town with our two small daughters in September. We stayed in Ivy cottage at The Tarragon for five nights. It was wonderful. The cottage had two large en suite bedrooms, a well equiped dinning/kitchen/living area and a lovely terrace with spectacular views of the mountains. Travelling with two young children is never easy... more
Fully lives up to all the great reviews on this website! Mark and Julia are great and really went out of their way to be helpful and make our stay enjoyable. Top restaurant tip from Mark - La Colombe in the Uitsig winery - best restaurant we have ever been to and incredible value for money. You do need a... more
So I should start by saying that we would never book an "inn" or a B&B on a big vacation like a trip to Africa, we normally stay in 5star+ hotels/accomodations. We were initially looking at The Twelve Apostles, Cape Grace, Mount Nelson but The Tarragon caught our eye because of all of the wonderful reviews on Trip Advisor. As... more
We stayed at the Tarragon for 7 nights during our wonderful Cape Town holiday in August 2008. We stayed on Angelica and Ivy and cannot fault either property, both were fully kitted out with everything you could need in a self catering accommodation. There were plenty of toys and playthings for our 1 year old daughter, lots of local tour... more
