Stayed at the Viengtai Hotel in November 2008 after booking through Otel.com. Booked a Delux room and was disappointed to find lots of mould on the grout in the bathroom - asked to change rooms and was offered another with the same problem. Apart from that the room was a bit shabby and not up to scratch. There was a... more

We looked for a middle class hotel in Bankgok and we haven't been disappointed. I think it's worth "4 Stars" - having the price of al 3-star hotel. The Viengtai is not expensive but offers really clean and decent rooms. The staff is helpful and friedly. The breakfast buffet is really fantastic, with european, american and thai-style cuisine. The hotel... more

This is a decent hotel for your average tourist looking for a functional and clean hotel. I really enjoyed the buffet breakfast each morning, which offered both Western and Asian options. The staff provided good service and was easy to work with. The rooms are not the most luxurious, but were clean. more

We stayed at this hotel for about 4 days in August 2008 and we were really satisfied. We booked executive room, which is newly renovated and I can say that the room was clean and nice. The breakfast was alright as well. The hotel is located next to the Khao San Road, which is perfect place for newies in Bangkok.... more

We stayed at the Viengtai for 3 nights in December. The location- in terms of seeing the city- was great, but being one road away from Khao San Road it was very noisy at night- loud live music until 2am was hard to sleep through. The room was OK, nothing special, and breakfast fairly average (but omelettes on request very... more

I stayed there in oct 2006 as part of my Intrepid tour. I booked an extra few days beforehand. Hotel was clean in lobby and clean room. Staff were okay and hotel location is pretty central to KSR area. It can be noisy if your room is facing front of hotel where there is sometimes late music from bars opposite.... more

We made reservation for a king bed which was not available when we arrived so they upgraded us to a Deluxe Room had nice wood floor... more

We stayed at the Viengtai on the last day of our holiday having returned from the Islands. We had previously stayed on Sukhumvit Rd but wanted to be closer to the action. We arrived in the middle of Songkran, the Thai New Year 'Water and Powder' festival. It was as busy as the Notting Hill Carnival, as loud, but much... more

Stayed for 3 nights at the start of a tour of Thailand. First room offered was v.basic and smelt damp, unfortunately this seems to be the case in a lot of hotels I have stayed in in Asia (humidity v rainy season). I asked reception for an upgrade, I was willing to pay the difference, but they gave an upgrade... more
