My family and I stayed for two (2) nights at the Southern Sun Hotel in Maputo, Mozambique (formerly the Holiday Inn). The location is great away from the downtown Maputo noise and traffic. I visited in August which must be a quiet time in Maputo as the hotel was not busy at all. This really contributed to the lack of atmosphere. Staff were helpful and friendly and always ready to smile if you engaged them. Food was average, the buffet in the evenings was poor in some respects and you should opt for... more
