If you're considering visiting Marrakech for the first time but are not 100% sure, then my advice would be that you must , it's a truly unique experience. Ifyou have decided to go but are unsure where to stay then don't be ! If you don't stay at the Dar Charkia then you run the risk of missing out on... more

My wife and I booked the Dar Charkia after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and doing some further research. The Dar Charkia is a wonderfully renovated Riad in the heart of the Medina and close to all of the action. It is only a few minutes to the Souks and equally to the Djemaa el Fnaa square or Koutoubia... more

At the Dar Charkia you will be taken care of from the minute you make your booking. Lisa and Michael go to great lengths to ensure everything is arranged for you from booking trips and restaurants to looking after you in the Riad. This place is not some impersonal five star hotel, it is a small, friendly boutique hotel. The... more

I took my younger daughter to Dar Charkia (on the personal recommendation of my older daughter) for a rest and some quality time together. We were made to feel very special from the moment we arrived until we left 4 days later. The riad is spacious, beautifully and artistically furnished throughout, and all the food we had there was freshly... more

Dar Charkia is a haven of comfort and quality only a short walk from the souks and Dar El Bacha in Marrakech's Medina. The owners (Lisa and Michael) offer a friendly welcome and help you plan days out and useful advice. They are always on hand for any tips. The rooms are all en-suite and beautifully decorated. Dar Charkia is... more

I stayed in this wonderful riad last year and returned again this year with other friends for many reasons. The riad is beautifully and tastefully decorated with a wonderful roof terrace and lots of little nooks and crannies to relax in. There are fabulous trinkets all over the place that will inspire you to dip in and out of the... more

We visited Dar Charkia for 5 nights back in September and I’ve been meaning to type up our experience ever since. Anyway, we arrived on Friday evening having travelled by train from Tangier and were immediately greeted with a much welcomed gin & tonic. The annotated map Lisa provided during a brief introductory chat was most welcome for a first-time... more

We spent five nights at Dar Charkia around our wedding anniversary and it was fantastic in every respect. The Riad itself was beautiful and we felt totally relaxed as soon as we arrived. Our bedroom was spacious and comfy with a fab deluge shower. There was plenty of space to relax around the courtyard and on the roof terrace and we... more

My husband and I booked Dar Charkia for a few days either side of a trekking trip in the Atlas mountains. It was a peaceful, beautiful and (importantly!) fun haven just seconds away from the frenetic streets of the Medina. The decor is simple but stunning, but not too over-styled (unlike some of the other Riads we visited). We stayed... more
