We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights beginning August 2, 2008. We had two connecting rooms. One with a King Bed, the other with 2 doubles. We booked our room through the American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts programs which includes upgrades when space is avialble. This hotel was nearly empty during our stay and not only were we... more

Just spent 6 days at the Hay Adams. Stayed in suite facing Lafayette Park and allegedly the White House. Size. layout and furnishings of suite were fantastic, but adjoining room we also had was scary small. Because we were on lower floor , trees only allowed view of park and top of Wash. Monument. Staff and concierge were very helpful,... more

I stayed at the Hay Adams for a three day business trip. Below is my assessment-- Pros: 1. Price: I received a good rate--about $300/night booking through the hotel's website. You can generally get better rates in the summer when Congress slows down or goes into a recess period. Granted, I didn't have a room with a view of the... more

We were in town for college hunting for our son and some sight seeing on the side. We got a good- to-great rate ($309 per room for lovely, large connecting rooms) for five nights. I really want to love this hotel and make this my home away from home as my son is probably going to school in D.C. Positives:... more

We stayed at the Hay Adams for 2 nights recently on a weekend visit to DC. It was a nice experience, but not quite up to what I expect from a hotel of this reputation and at this price. Our room was nice, but not substantially nicer than many other hotels I have stayed in. The hotel could use some... more

We stayed here about 5 years ago and things are the same. Clean room, comfy beds, small bathroom with weak water pressure, great location for being a tourist, service excellent/attentive. But bring your earplugs if you want to sleep. We heard every door in the hallway slam, conversations in the hall (although we were around the corner and down the... more

We have just returned from a long weekend in Washington, spent at the Hay-Adams, which was an all-round fantastic experience. The staff were all friendly, professional and extremely helpful, and the concierge service was outstanding, with all of their recommendations for restaurants/bars being spot-on for us. We got engaged while we were in Washington and were upgraded to a suite,... more

The Hay-Adams is within walking distance of the places we wanted to visit while in DC--the Mall, the Vietnam War Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial. Staying at the hotel added to our Washingtonian experience. Public spaces and the rooms were elegant and tasteful. We loved it all--from the gorgeous floral arrangement in the lobby to the comfy robes in the... more

My son and I stayed at the Hay Adams for 5 nights recently for vacation. Upon arrival, we were taken to a room with (1) twin bed and a full size bed which was NOT what we expected or booked given that my son is a college student and 6'6" tall. We waited thirty minutes to find out that all... more

Well guys, I just got back from a long weekend at the Haye Adams and I was very disappointed. I am not quite sure why other Trip Advisor reviewers rave about this hotel so much!?!?! I have come to trust and respect the reviews on this web site, but with the Haye-Adams I just don't get it. I guess it... more
