I stayed at the Amaranten for one night in May 07' prior to transferring to another First hotel in Stockholm. Amaranten is well located in in the Kungsholmen area of Stockholm and has a few restaurants & cafes about. It is not far from the Metro either. Checkin was freindly and informative. The rooms were comfortable and, well equipped. Being... more

We stayed in an executive double room at the 7th floor (because no other room was available) which was excellent but quite expensive, about 175 euros for a night. The breakfast was great but there was a very poor internet connection in the room. more

This hotel is excellent, we booked a special dog package as we had the dogs with us on vacation. It is in a fantastic location with a nice bar downstairs. The reception area is clean and the staff are friendly, the room was tidy and the beds were very comfortable. We would certainly choose to stay here again! Dog owners,... more

I've stayed in this hotel in July 2008. I know many of four star hotels in various cities in Europe and in comparison, I was very disappointed with this. Breakfast is good, but the rooms are very conventional, and the materials used are banal. It is just a place to sleep ... but expensive! more

I normally love First Hotels - but my stay here was marred by some simple things: The lobby decor promises modern, airy, light rooms, but mine on the 4th floor was in serious need of a lick of paint. It doesn't help that the rooms are small - so scuffs appear on the walls all too easily. For what it... more

It was the worst 4 star hotel I ever stayed in. The room was far too small (we booked a double room), the overall appearance of the room was very negative. The furniture was really old, not to mention the horrible and dirty curtains, the old chair and the old piece of carpet. The minibar was not in the cupboard... more

Have stayed at this hotel two times. I tend to book when i find good offers (book through ACN Show your card), and in that case the price is very resoable compared with other hotels in Stockholm. We payed 1600 SEK for two nights in the high season. The service is great, there is a nice breakfast buffet (though it... more

Stayed for two nights at the First Amaranten while at a congress in Stockholm. On first impressions it was a nice place. The reception is spacious and the staff were friendly and pretty efficient at getting taxis and such like. That said, they did make me wait until 15h30 for my room, which seemed a little late in the day... more

The Business traveller needs a bit more. Positives: Breakfast is outstanding - one of the top 10 I have had. Negatives: Rooms are too small, Internet is very slow (and you have to pay for it which is unusual for 4*) and i couldn't run Outlook from it. The little things are missing: Shampoo is a huge thing hung on... more

The hotel lobby is pretty cool. The room has to be the smallest I've ever had, and for the price. Also, the doors open out. The room was nice, but tiny. Its greatest assest is being a walk down to the Tunnel Bahn, and proximity to the city centre. more
