had a thoroughly good 3 night stay in room 222. room wasnt luxury but comfortable and clean, also the bathroom was good. enjoyed going out onto the stone balcony leading out the french doors and drinking in the atmosphere of the bustling street outside especially after dark seeing the floodlit building, once the doors were shut all the loud noise... more
We have just returned from a short stay at the Die Port Van Cleve Hotel in Amsterdam. The hotel is situated approx. 10 mins walk from the railway station which has great links from the airport. From landing to the hotel was just an hour, including passport control and waiting for luggage! The hotel itself is well situated just behind... more
Stayed for two nights with friends - very overpriced - rooms dated and stuck in the 70's G-Plan. Mould in the bathroom, dirty stained carpets and a dressing table that hadn't been cleaned behind in months - empty crisp packets etc., and coke can left under the bed. Dull, dark room that was depressing to be in - so only... more
The reviews other have placed pretty much tells it all - the location is great, but the rooms (at least the two we were offered) were terrible. The first room offered was in the attic, with a ceiling so low we only could streatch our back one place (and we're not large people). This was a hot day in june... more
This was our first stop during our 2 week trip to Europe. The hotels is nice. Our rom was very clean, as well as the bathroom. It is in a nice loaction where the Dam Square is about 5 minutes away if that. You can easliy walk to other attractions, like Maddam Tussauds Wax Museum, and the Anne Frank House.... more
Careless and clumsy porters, management that brush you off with excuses. I was asked whether I would like my items to be taken to the room by the porter, to which I said yes ( unfortunately ). I was left with £450.00 worth of damage and when I contacted the management they brushed me off with excuses and said that... more
Not a good hotel. Very small rooms. No hard soap. both soap dispensers were broken and never fixed; even after I reported to the manager. Towels with holes in them. Chairs in the room were strained. No wash cloths. The manager did bring us some after I talked to him. more
Myself and a friend stayed here for four nights in June 08. Having read some terrible reviews, we didnt really know what to expect. However we found the hotel to be clean, the staff friendly, efficient and helpful and of course the location excellent. We would recommend this hotel and would stay there again. more
The hotel has the best location. Just 5 mins walk to the dam square.(the main center) Easy access to everything. The receptionist was pretty and nice. The bell had a good sense of humour and welcoming. Excellent people there. There is the tram station just near the hotel so easily connects you to everyplace. cheers more
