Located across from the central train station, the Barbizon is very close to the downtown attractions and 'red light district'. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and surprisingly large. more

I loved this hotel. The room was beautiful, it was one of the special one's with a high ceiling, it didn't look like a hotel room at all. The location was great, near the Central Station. The food was pricey but we never ate there. The desk staff was nice and polite, and concierge had great resturant recommendations. I would... more

This was our first time visiting Amsterdam and if I'm perfectly honest, it wasn't that great....... We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights (Saturday - Tuesday). It is based in an ideal location for first time visitors as the hotel is located just over the road from Centraal Station and easy to find. The reception area is lovely. It... more

Good price/quality ratio for an european hotel. The location is undeniably the best location : train station, shopping area, Chinatown (Zeedijk), gay and entertainment Warmoesstraat are next to the hotel. Breakfast is expensive but the alternative are 1 minute walk away. I have the room 319 with the nice view of the Centraal Station. The maid clean the room as... more

Compared with the overcrowded and noisy Krasnapolsky down the road, this hotel represents an Oasis of calm and tranquility. Rooms are spacious, clean and well-equipped (exceptionally so). Staff are friendly and courteous, breakfast is excellent and the location couldn't be better - opposite Centraal Station so very easy access from Schiphol Airport. Also very good for the RAI congress centre... more

In stayed one Thursday night on business and was booked in because it was close to Centraal Station. Quick check-in, spacious standard room (even by US standards) and everything worked well. It's a big hotel and has a mix of punters - including quite a few holiday makers - but I found it to be quiet and rather intimate despite... more

This hotel is very well located for the railway station (we were able to walk from there with two very heavy suitcases), and sits right on the edge of the red light district and the city centre. Great, if a little noisy (we backed onto the canal, and busy tourist streets, although it was a hot weekend after a period... more

We stayed at the Barbizon for one nights stay. The location was excellent and really close to the train station - across the street! Our room was on the second floor and was extremely quiet. The room itself was great, spacious, lovely bathroom and with a huge bed! We think that we were upgraded - but are not sure. The... more

Wonderful staff and terrific location. Right across the street from the train station. Around the corner from the district. Easy navigation to museums and restaurants. Yes, it is pricey, but totally worth it. Superb breakfasts ($$ but filled us up for most of the day). Concierge and house-keeping staff helpful, friendly, responsive. We had a great room on the top... more
