Stayed at the Alexandra for 3 nights and found it to be an excellent hotel. The taxi fare from the airport was 30euros and took 20mins but the fare does vary with the time of day and what day you go. Our overall experience was very positive, I must say, even though it is not the most friendly hotel for families with young children. The hotel location is priviledged - next to Paseo de Gracia, Las Ramblas, the port. The breakfast is superb - very varied and delicious (although the tortillas de patata were frozen!). Good location in Barcelona. The hotel has a contemporary feel and the service is excellent. I liked the rooms - modern, yet comfortable. TV wasn't the easiest to use, but had the best array of English channels I've ever come across! Breakfast was fine. Will stay there again. more
