we have visited the Sunshine Coast aquarium several times (we live in QLD ) and I have also seen the one in Auckland....the Sydney Aquarium is by far the best. we all had a great visit especially our two year old. I wouldn't say its cheap but it is well worth visiting. more

The Sydney aquarium is worth a visit - lots of Australian marine life, including platypus, penguins, crocodiles and of course sharks. The shark exhibit is impressive with massive underwater tunnels housing some very large sharks. Lots to see - kids would enjoy. more

Interesting and entertaining Sydney aquarium is a great entertaining place to visit to get out of the sun for a while. We spent a good 3 hours walking round plenty of fish of all sizes and types displayed well. The favourites have to be the crocodile, the sharks and the seals. more

We went to the aquarium on a wet October morning. The place was packed, particularly with groups of school children, and this obviously affected our enjoyment of the place. Overall, we were extremely disappointed - the aquarium is dated and very small and claustraphobic and we have seen far better displays elsewher eg London Aquarium, Seaworld Florida and even Epcot's... more

We visited this aquarium in May 2005 and loved it. We have visited many aquariums both in the US and Australia and this is one of the best that we have been to. The shark and ray exhibit is amazing, awesome, outstanding. This is a serious must see. more

Although it is somewhat expensive, if you are a student (from anywhere) you can take your ID and save almost half of the admission price! Even if you're not, it is totally worth it. Not just the best attraction in Sydney, but the best Aquarium we've ever been to, and that includes the Monterey Aquarium (in California), the National Aquarium in Baltimore and the Scripps Institute in La Jolla. The Oceanarium is fantastic. While there are more seals in San Francisco harbor, the rest of the Sydney Aquarium more than makes up for this. more

We have been to the Sydney Aquarium at Darling Harbour over 10 times and we love it. It is a little expensive to visit but the displays are amazing and full of life and colour.
